American History Explorer
December 1994

American History Explorer was one of my favorite Parsons
products, and this is one of my favorite t-shirts.
AHE grew out of our work on American History Atlas. We started
with the Atlas and added video, slide shows, 3-D images, historical
music, timelines, and more. My kids still use AHE to learn American
History.
One of the
many cool features was the inclusion of the text of the inaugural
addresses of each of the presidents included in its time period, along
with maps showing the electoral college results. Each election also had
a slide show detailing the issues of the election.
The Hall of Presidents included photos of each president and their
homes, a short biography, and a comparison chart showing key statistics
and facts of each of the presidents. In a move we thought would be
controversial we included information on Jefferson Davis. Nobody
complained so we must have done OK.
